This weekend see’s Fulham visiting St. James’s park. With no win in 4 for the visitors and the hosts on the back of a good win last time out away at Huddersfield the Magpies are the favourites heading in to the big pre-Christmas tie for both teams. The obvious first talking point has to be the return of the former Newcastle forward Aleksander Mitrovic (Pictured) with whom the fans had a almost cult like following with (We all remember the song!) And he is the opponents obvious danger man coming in so far this season with 7 goals and 2 assists for the Cottagers. We all know what quality he does posses but also his short comings such as his temper and his very hot and cold form. But Fulham’s recent dip has also seen him with no goals in 4 games…. Don’t you dare Mitro! But how will he be remembered by the Geordie faithful I wonder come kick off? Time will tell. For me he was always a player I WANTED to do well for us and felt he could of but I also recognise that he could be a pain to manage and maybe just wasn’t worth the risk for Rafa, and we did get an amazing profit of around £13 million so, every cloud eh?
Match details: Kick off is 3PM 22ND December 2018. Forecast is for light rain spells with high’s of 8* and lows of 4*so wrap up well lads and lasses!
So onto ourselves, After a great win away from home with the line-up above, the main question would be do we stick the same lads out and say have at ’em!? I am of the philosophy of you don’t change a winning side and unless any niggles of injury have struck the lads in training then I would be a fan of keeping the same side out. Giving Kennedy another chance in his new role which he is still getting a full custom too I hope he can get his head up abit more, less of the leg overs and stupid flicks and sticks to the basics such as running at people which he can be dangerous at, fingers crossed! Being at home I can see the urge to go a bit more gung-ho especially against a team out of form such as these but I also see that they have some danger men also who could hurt us if we did go for it too hard. With our back 3 being busy with big Mitro they also have some pacey wingers and a couple of decent central midfielders for our lads to keep tabs on so it won’t be an easy game that is for sure, But I am confident of snatching all 3 points here and if we could notch 2-3 goals in the process that would be even more icing on top of the Christmas cake! So let’s hope Santa has listened to the 52,000 lads n lasses asking for nothing more than a nice little 3pts in there stocking filler! We will be back with the review of the match, hopefully revelling in a 6-0 win…. It’s Christmas I am allowed to be optimistic right? HOWAY THE LADS!!!
